New Remix of Bloc Party’s Kele
Kele from Bloc Party gets track remixed by RAC.
Just wanted to drop a quick line and let you readers know there will be a two week absence of posting. I am headed out of the country and will be returning the 9th of august. Thanks for reading and check back soon.

Chromeo has announced cities and dates for their Business Casual Summer Tour. I am not a huge fan of Chromeo, but they do put on a good live show. I am however a pretty big fan of Holy Ghost and Neon Indian who will be joining them for some stops on the tour.
Have a listen to ‘Don’t Turn the Lights On’, the first single from their new album.

I had been wondering who was the designer behind the album artwork for Tame Impala’s new album InnerSpeaker. The other day I stumbled across the portfolio of Leif, a Melbourne based artist who appears to be the man with the talent behind this cover as well as the cover for their new single Solitude is Bliss (which I just so happened to have posted a remix of). Leif has a lot of other nice looking work in his portfolio, check it out.

(Self-promo alert) For those of you who don’t know I not only run this blog, but my main focus is designing under the moniker Kidplastik. I work with many clients including lots of musicians, DJs and producers. I have recently updated my portfolio with some works I have done for Eli Smith, Always Never (Le Castle Vania’s label), Kids at the Bar, Killpop Records and Computer Blue. I am looking to expand my client base and am looking for cool people to work with. If you are looking for or are interested in album artwork, website, logo, branding or illustration work you can contact me here.

More work here.

If there is one good thing that comes out of this disaster in the Gulf it will be making the general public aware of how destructive we as a society have become to this planet we live on. The BP Cares UK poster campaign, which appears to have been done by Tony Hayward, aims to do just that. Head over to the website to download, print and post dozens of well-designed posters in PDF format. Make your voice heard and dp your part in stopping the destruction.

Check out what the kids are up to here in Salt Lake City. Scion reports on Scenster Siege featuring my boy Hot Noise aka Jeff Larson.

I am really liking the design work from Spanish designer Velckro. Especially these club posters done for Soundsick. Probably some of the coolest club posters I have seen.

Mixeeba is a cool little service that’s good for both listeners and publisher of mixtapes. Basically the website will take a tracklist you have copied and pasted, search all of the major online distribution outlets for those tracks and then output a converted tracklist with links to where you can purchase those tracks. This is a great little tool for DJs, music bloggers and music lovers.

Adam Kesher has just made available for download a four track collection of his own remixes. My favorite of the collection is this remix done for Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’. It’s a short (just under three minutes), happy tune with vocoded male vocals and female vocals that contrast nicely. Head over to the Disque Primeur Facebook page to download all four remixes free. Adam Kesher also has a new album due out in August called Challenging Nature, so keep your eye out for that.

Last night I saw Delorean in concert. As I expected they were amazing, but I was also impressed by one of the opening acts Glasser. Glasser was one of those artists in my music library who I had listened to, filed away and forgotten to check into further. That is until I saw her performance last night. I recommend giving these tracks a listen and if you get the opportunity check her out live.

Nacey is a duo out of Washington D.C. that not only are a part of the city’s biggest club night, but have also been making waves as producers over the past couple years. This remix they have done of ‘Steppin’ Up’ from M.I.A.’s latest album isn’t exactly a dance floor banger, but good nevertheless. It’s got a cool melodic piano track and hard-hitting head-bobbing bassline. The duo recently released a seven track EP titled Time Run Out and is available now here.

Check out the beautiful remix of Unkle’s ‘Natural Selection’. Holy Fuck and Ki:Theory team up for this remix and it all comes together really nicely. The original track is from Unkle’s album Where Did the Night Fall which is available here.
