New Remix of Bloc Party’s Kele
Kele from Bloc Party gets track remixed by RAC.
I would be willing to say that over 50% of my clothing is purchased online. I have a few favorite online boutiques that I often check for new goods, one of them being 80’s Purple. Nearly every label that 80’s Purple carries is purchase worthy. With a great selection of both men and women’s clothing, you will find goods from WeSc, GRN Apple Tree, Insight, Boxfresh and more. The prices are that of what you would pay at your average boutique, the selection is acceptional and be sure to check out their eyewear for some awesome vintage sunnies.
What’s the next best thing to being at a party with hot people, good music and getting down right out of control? The answer is easy. Looking at photos of hot people, listening to good music and getting down right out of control. A good place for this is EveryoneIsFamous by party photographer Clayton Hauck. For over a year now Clayton has been documenting the debauchery going down in the Chicago party and nightlife scene. With over 25,000 photos on the site you could spend days browsing through images of people who you can live vicariously through. Get to it.
When it comes to job posting websites most of them are a joke. Sifting through hundreds of jobs that don’t apply to your field, or for boring employers that you have no interest in working for just doesn’t work. That’s why I am keen on job boards that are very specific to one area of work and type of employer, like Well Threaded. Well Threaded is a job listing website that is specific to the fashion industry. Listing daily postings for various job positions by contemporary brand name employers. Because they are niched into one specific field, Well Threaded has the ability to monitor and be selective about the jobs that are posted. This makes for better results and higher quality job postings.
At first glance it you may want to lump the designs/illustrations of Burn This Forever into the same category as all the other “I learned Photoshop so I could make my Myspace profile cooler” stuff. However, at a second look you will agree that the design done by Burn This Forever is legit. His clients range from Metallica to New Found Glory to Say Anything, but I would have to say his best work is done on his self promotional tees. And at 15 bucks a pop how can you go wrong?!
Super Sunglasses are a lot like the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer, but spiced up with a little funk. You may have noticed these sunglasses during this year’s MTV Music Video Awards when Kayne and his crew were sporting them throughout the night. The Super Sunglasses, which are handmade it Italy, come in a variety of colors from hot pink to aqua blue to off-white. It’s rumored that next season will provide an even wider spectrum of colors and some new styles as well.
It takes a lot for me to get excited over clothing found on the internet these days, but when I saw Rockett Clothing’s website, I immediately wanted empty my bank account. Their website is basic and to the point. A single page displaying their tees, hoodies and jeans is all they need, the clothing speaks for itself. It takes a lot to stand out from all the small internet clothing companies these days, and the little details Rockett puts into their stuff puts them a notch or two above the rest in my book. Keep up the good work guys.

Is it just me, or does Australia just seem to be putting out some really dope shit these days? Great music, great design, great clothing, including the latest collection from Australia’s young Lovers. Their line has that lovable homegrown, hand-drawn type feel that I really like. All of their tees are limited edition, and only 100 of each are made, so if you like what you see hurry and snag one before they are gone.
In light of the coming winter and snowboarding season, I introduce the Burton Mark Collection XIII. Although I think Burton is slightly overpriced, they do make very high-quality products, and their design is awesome. Not to mention they have been in the snowboaring game for longer than just about anyone else out there, so they do know a thing or to about what they do. The Mark Collection XIII includes a wide variety of ultra-stylish products including heavy jackets, snow pants, cashmere and wool sweaters, as well as many accessories.
It’s been a long time coming, but it’s here… Kidrobot Apparel. For years now they have been feeding those with the vinyl addiction. Now they are supplying us with some really great threads to feed your fashion addiction. I am personally really digging these limited edition Bubble and Monogram hoodies done by Tilt, only 228 of each were made. They also have a whole poo-load of tees as well. Pocketbook beware.
In many cases, when it comes to design, simplicity is key. Clothing company Zuriick demonstrates this well with their shoe collection that was recently released. I am a minimalist at heart and that’s why I like these so much. The simplicity of these slip-ons, and the careful selection of color schemes is what really makes these shoes stand out to me. Zuriick has also released their fall line of t-shirts as well that is definitely worth a look.
For those of you who have been busted multiple times stealing your girlfriend’s old issues of Nylon Magazine, there is an alternative that will keep you on good terms with the old lady, and keep you up to date on fashion, music and culture. Nylon Guys is just that, Nylon Magazine, but for guys. It still has all the goods that the original Nylon has, only now there is more content for the guys. Check out features about the latest designer denim, sneakers, t-shirts, your favorite musicians and more.
I know, I know, duct tape wallets are like “so 3 years ago”. Well, that is until you see the wallets Shalgo puts out. They are taking the whole duct tape “thing” to a whole new level. The part Dutch, part American married couple started Shalgo in 2003, and are now worldwide. With products in stores throughout the U.S., Canada, Italy and Japan. Shalgo makes more than just wallets too, they also have a full line of iPod jakets as well.
Back in January of this year, along with many other bloggers, I posted about Urban Outfitters blatantly ripping-off a t-shirt design of indie label Johnny Cupcakes. Well, it seems as though someone has decided to do something about situations like this. Urban Counterfeiters is a blog started to help prevent large companies from plagiarizing the work of smaller companies and indie artists. The example shown above is a design stolen by H&M, the orginal was done by Delphi, a small clothing company that is well known by designers. It’s unfortunate that companies like this claim to represent a generation and community that thrives on creativity and originality. If you are aware of other circumstances similar to this, please contact Urban Counterfeiters with your information.

Honestly, as a designer going by the name of Toothjuice, how could your shit not be cool? Josh Clancy is a designer out of Minneapolis, Minnesota and his portfolio is full of good work. Having done work for the Plain White Tees, Hawthorne Heights and Beautiful Decay, Josh seems to be making quite the name for himself. I am particularly fond of his t-shirt designs, keep up the good work.
Despite being sicker than a dog, and feeling like I just choked down a bag of razor blades, I decided to crawl from my bed and write up a post. EIO Clothing is a London based design company that has a huge collection of awesome tees for both guys and girls. Many of their designs consist of large full-frontal prints with gradients and patterns. I really dig the color selections they use, and really like the matalic they have used on a couple of their tees like this one. Time to bust out the currency converter.

Adam Kesher has just made available for download a four track collection of his own remixes. My favorite of the collection is this remix done for Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’. It’s a short (just under three minutes), happy tune with vocoded male vocals and female vocals that contrast nicely. Head over to the Disque Primeur Facebook page to download all four remixes free. Adam Kesher also has a new album due out in August called Challenging Nature, so keep your eye out for that.

Last night I saw Delorean in concert. As I expected they were amazing, but I was also impressed by one of the opening acts Glasser. Glasser was one of those artists in my music library who I had listened to, filed away and forgotten to check into further. That is until I saw her performance last night. I recommend giving these tracks a listen and if you get the opportunity check her out live.

Nacey is a duo out of Washington D.C. that not only are a part of the city’s biggest club night, but have also been making waves as producers over the past couple years. This remix they have done of ‘Steppin’ Up’ from M.I.A.’s latest album isn’t exactly a dance floor banger, but good nevertheless. It’s got a cool melodic piano track and hard-hitting head-bobbing bassline. The duo recently released a seven track EP titled Time Run Out and is available now here.

Check out the beautiful remix of Unkle’s ‘Natural Selection’. Holy Fuck and Ki:Theory team up for this remix and it all comes together really nicely. The original track is from Unkle’s album Where Did the Night Fall which is available here.
