The Uniques CD Artwork by Pišta Kráľovič
The art of CD cover design has nearly joined the art of record cover design and is all but gone. However, there are still a few people out there doing some pretty amazing designs with their CD releases. Like this design by Pišta Kráľovič for his band The Uniques.
“I made this album cover for my band packed into an A3 poster. After I folded it I realized that the paper has so much friction that it holds the CD without any glue or plastic.”

I am pretty sure I have posted about 8tracks before, but recently they updated their interface a bit and I have had a renewed love for the site. The website’s simple, elegant website allows for users to create, share and listen to mixes compiled of all genres of music. A great way to discover new stuff.
Jef Barbara – Wild Boys Music Video
Today I got a submission in my inbox that had nothing more than a link to this amazing music video for ‘Wild Boys’ by Jef Barbara. Many videos that try to replicate that retro 80s look fail miserably, but this video was either really shot with a super-old VHS camera, or the effects were very well-done. The previous wouldn’t surprise me considering his debut album is only being released on cassette. Awesome!

Chromeo Announces North America Tour
Chromeo has announced cities and dates for their Business Casual Summer Tour. I am not a huge fan of Chromeo, but they do put on a good live show. I am however a pretty big fan of Holy Ghost and Neon Indian who will be joining them for some stops on the tour.

(Self-promo alert) For those of you who don’t know I not only run this blog, but my main focus is designing under the moniker Kidplastik. I work with many clients including lots of musicians, DJs and producers. Mixeeba Tracklisting
Mixeeba is a cool little service that’s good for both listeners and publisher of mixtapes. Basically the website will take a tracklist you have copied and pasted, search all of the major online distribution outlets for those tracks and then output a converted tracklist with links to where you can purchase those tracks. This is a great little tool for DJs, music bloggers and music lovers.
