My Wish List

In order to help my friends and family out with their Christmas shopping I devised a little list of realistic wishables. I know it’s a bit late, but just in case you are able to add a few more things to your own wish list I thought I might share some suggestions of things you might like as well.

At the top of the list is the WESC Stretch Armstrong Bagpipe Headphones. Even though WESC makes quality stuff, at first I had reservations about these. But after listening to them, and then seeing this colorway with the maroon and baby blue I was sold. Read more below to see more goods that topped my list.

Available here for $149.00

Incase Nylon Backpack
I already own an Incase bag for my Macbook. It’s been a great bag, but it’s time for an update. This pack is perfect for keeping your laptop safe. It has a faux fur lining and lots of additional compartments for your other goods.

Available here for $99.95

The Flip Mino
This tiny video camera it great for those little internet videos that you want to capture on the go without having to worry about an expensive or larger video camera. It captures video at 640×480 and can store up to 60 minutes of footage. They have tons of different designs and colors and also offer an HD model.

Available here for $179.99

American Apparel Baby Rib Boxer Briefs
What’s a Christmas list without underwear? I have been on a longtime quest to find a pair of underwear that fits me right without riding-up and bunching all weird. Think what you will about American Apparel, but when I bought a pair of these they hands down beat all my other pairs of boxer briefs.

Available here for $14.00

Travel Chopsticks
To be honest I really can’t imagine using these all that often, but I want them kind of for novelty reasons. Plus it’s always a good idea to give ideas for stalking stuffers. Otherwise you end up with just toothbrushes and candy canes.

Available here for $12.00

Nooka – Zub38 ZenV Watch
I don’t often wear them, even though I have a thing for uniquely designed watches. Nooka makes all kinds of models that have interesting ways of displaying the time. I have wanted one for a long timel.

Available here for $140.00

Fuji Instax Camera
I not only like the design and look of this camera, but the idea of tangible instant photos. I own a Holga and a Lomo, but having the photos instantly makes for some fun and creative ways to use this camera.

Available here for $130.00

Hooray For Earth – Surrounded By Your Friends (Twin Shadow Remix)

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Twin_Shadow

Twin Shadow has been making some waves throughout the internets lately. I recently purchased his new album Forget, and I must say I quite like it. I am also really liking this remix he has done for Hooray For Earth, who I had never heard of before this song, but will surely be checking them out after hearing it.

Muscles – Girl Crazy Go (Muscles Inception Remix)

Monday, October 18th, 2010

musclesyim

The last I heard of Muscles he had quit the music business because of problems with his label Modular. This disappointed me because I love his music. However, I was happy to see that if the rumors were true at the time he has apparently changed his mind. A new EP by Muscles titled Younger & Immature is due out October 29.

Here’s a remix of the first single from the EP ‘Girl Crazy Go’. Check out the music video for the original version here. From the sounds of it Muscles hasn’t lost his musical touch, or his ego.

Sleigh Bells – Run the Heart (Bassnectar Remix)

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Sleigh+Bells+sleighbells1

Music by Bassnectar isn’t something I would normally post here. For the most part I feel his stuff is for dirty rave hippies, and if you read this blog at all you probably know how I feel about the wobbly bass-heavy Dubstep. That being said this remix done of Sleigh Bells‘ song ‘Run the Heart’ is still bass-heavy, but not completely overboard. It also manages to keep a lot of what makes the original track so good.

Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette – Hello

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

dragonette-martin

Chances are if you spend any amount of time on the internet you have heard ‘Hello’ by Martin Solveig featuring the lovely Dragonette (considering it went number one on Hype Machine). But I couldn’t resist posting this super-fun dance-pop masterpiece. It’s basically impossible not to want to dance to this song. I don’t know a lot about Martin Solveig, but from what I have heard and seen so far I am liking his stuff. Purchase the EP with several remixes on Beatport now.

Millionyoung – Local Joke (Neon Indian Cover)

million-young

Millionyoung, aka Mike Diaz, is shaping up to be one of my favorite artist of 2010. I really love this cover he has done of Neon Indian’s ‘Local Joke’. He adds his own personality to the song, so much that it sounds as though he could have written it. I am looking forward to a full-length album from him.
