New Remix of Bloc Party’s Kele
Kele from Bloc Party gets track remixed by RAC.

Last night I saw Delorean in concert. As I expected they were amazing, but I was also impressed by one of the opening acts Glasser. Glasser was one of those artists in my music library who I had listened to, filed away and forgotten to check into further. That is until I saw her performance last night. I recommend giving these tracks a listen and if you get the opportunity check her out live.

Nacey is a duo out of Washington D.C. that not only are a part of the city’s biggest club night, but have also been making waves as producers over the past couple years. This remix they have done of ‘Steppin’ Up’ from M.I.A.’s latest album isn’t exactly a dance floor banger, but good nevertheless. It’s got a cool melodic piano track and hard-hitting head-bobbing bassline. The duo recently released a seven track EP titled Time Run Out and is available now here.

Modular artists Tame Impala just released their debut album InnerSpeaker last month. The song ‘Solitude is Bliss’ from the album has been remixed by the UK producer Mickey Moonlight and has a nice groove to it. I recommend giving this jam a download, I also recommend heading over and downloading the full album.

Here’s a nice remix Neon Indian did of ‘Another Likely Story’ by Au Revoir Simone. Neon Indian’s trademark fuzzy, wobbly retro synths take me right back to the days when Air Wolf was my favorite show. Some really good tunes for summer daze days. If you are into Neon Indian I would also recommend checking out this interview over at The Creators Project.

Here is yet another banger of a remix done by Oklahoma City duo Computer Blue. The track is ‘Moctezuma’ done for IllStM’s remix contest. I have been really impressed with all of the remixes these guys have done so far and look forward to not only hearing more but playing them on the dance floor.

Baths has a new album coming out on July 6th on Anticon Records (must have gotten pushed back because on his Myspace it says June 22nd). I have been enjoying this track from the album called ‘Your My Excuse to Travel’ and makes me quite excited to hear it in its entirety.

JSJ (aka Jessica Something Jewish) is a good friend of mine, and one of the biggest scene makers in Salt Lake City. He recently released his remix of Muscle Hawk’s track ‘It’s Alright’. It’s a super catchy synth-heavy jam that is sure to get any dance floor moving.

I must say when I first saw this remix Dada Life did for Kaskade I was almost certain I wouldn’t like it. I was most certainly wrong. Dada Life have made one of the most original dance tracks I have heard in a long time. The build-ups and breakdowns are completely unique and keep you guessing all the way through the song. I can’t wait to play this for a dance floor.

Here’s a remix by an up-and-comer duo by the name of Computer Blue. The track is Diamond Life’s ‘Want Some More’ and it’s got some really nice heavy elements. Computer Blue has released a few bangers over the past few months and is certainly on the verge of blowing up. Keep your eyes out for these guys, good things are sure to come.

Plus Move has just released the Worthy EP featuring five super-hot disco-punk-electro tracks. Here’s a little sample of the EP, the last song in the tracklist titled ‘Ruins’. And for a bonus they sent over their remix of Passion Pit’s one and only ‘Little Secrets’.

I remember this song ‘Holcyon’ by Orbital from when I was younger and experiencing my first raves. This remix of the track done by Myagi gives the track a modern feel but still keeps the original pieces that are so recognizable. It’s a nice blend of old and new.

I am not a real big fan of most hip-hop as of late, and by as of late I mean in the past five years. But this remix Cassettes Won’t Listen did of ‘The Compass’ by Yak Ballz (yes, Yak Ballz) is mighty fine. The cover art done by laforge is pretty damn cool too. I like the old school hip-hop sound with Cassettes Won’t Listen’s subtle electronic touches.

Build has done a nice remix of ‘Doubt’ by Australia’s trio Delphic. As with a lot of these producers/DJ/groups/bands that are popping up all over, there is very little to find out about them. But what I do know is this remix is a synthy ball of bouncy goodness that is sure to brighten your day.

Kids at the Bar have just announced the dates for their ‘So We Can Party Tour’ and along with that they sent over this BOMB of a remix. It’s a remix of Les Savy Fav’s song ‘The Slip’, and is without a doubt my favorite remix I have heard from the duo. Nice job boys, keep up the good work. Hopefully I will get to see them on one of these stops on the tour.

I first blogged about Faded Paper Figures at the beginning of last year when I heard their debut album Dynamo. At the time I compared their sound to that of The Postal Service. They have just released their second album New Medium, and while they still have a similar synth-pop sound it would seem they have come into their own and developed a sound of their own on this album. I have only given the album a once over, but from what I heard I am really liking it.

Adam Kesher has just made available for download a four track collection of his own remixes. My favorite of the collection is this remix done for Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’. It’s a short (just under three minutes), happy tune with vocoded male vocals and female vocals that contrast nicely. Head over to the Disque Primeur Facebook page to download all four remixes free. Adam Kesher also has a new album due out in August called Challenging Nature, so keep your eye out for that.
